Under patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah save him, Saudi FDA organizes the International conference for The Single Use Medical Devices “Practices, ethics and policies”, this conference aims to measure / obtain the scientists, experts and specialists views regarding the reuse of reprocessed single use medical devices and the associated risks with this practice, as a preface to regulate this issue in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Conference Objectives:
a) Explore the current situation through the study prepared by the Saudi FDA in collaboration with the Advisory committee of healthcare providers in Saudi Arabia.
b) Review the reuse of reprocessed single use medical devices international experiences and experiments.
c) Come up with conference recommendations, to develop integrated and unified policies assure the compliance of using the single use medical devices with the manufacturer’s instructions and its intended use, to ensure the patients’ safety and not to risk their lives. d) Spread health awareness and education in order to prevent risks exposure that resulted in the using of the reprocessed single use medical devices.
