Al Noor-Bank of Sharjah Ramadan CSR Football Tournament Creates an Exhilarating Experience for Corporate Players across the UAE!

 It’s no secret that UAE loves football. But it’s not always that you see players representing various companies unite to play for a cause! Al Noor Training Centre, living up to its tradition of connecting the community for a noteworthy cause, hosted the Al Noor-Bank of Sharjah Ramadan CSR Football Tournament 2016 from 12th-16th June 2016 at ANISA- Al Noor Indoor Sports Auditorium. It was a fantastic opportunity for companies around the UAE to reflect corporate social responsibility while embracing the spirit of Ramadan.  

The thrilling matches which went on till wee hours of night saw 16 corporate teams with 160 players battle it out for the coveted trophy. Dubai Duty Free was declared winners and Michelin AIM FZE and FedEx Express Middle East were the runners up and second runners up respectively. The player of the tournament was Mr. Obaid Salem from Dubai Duty Free best goal keeper was Mr. Cedric Lamure from Michelin AIM FZE. The winning team took home the Al Noor Ramadan Trophy and prizes were sponsored by the tournament Prize Sponsor- Dubai Duty Free. Bank of Sharjah has been dedicatedly supporting the centre for the past five years and this year they extended their support as the Title Sponsor of the Ramadan Sports Initiative. JLT Specialty Limited also came on board as the Bronze Sponsors of the event for the first time.

 

The best part of the Al Noor-Bank of Sharjah Ramadan CSR Football Tournament 2016 was that it wasn’t just another charity football match – it was a phenomenal platform to build awareness and raise funds for the cause of special needs students. The excitement and enthusiasm shown by players was inspiring and inspite of being separated by teams, every player was united by a common meaningful purpose.

 

Another highlight of the tournament was ANISA- Al Noor Indoor Sports Auditorium which was a delight for the players and they unanimously expressed how they enjoyed showing their skills on the indoor pitch. Al Noor Training Centre aims at establishing ANISA as one of Dubai’s strategically located all-purpose indoor sports stadium with upgraded amenities and facilities. Corporates and the community at large are invited to participate The tournament was professionally managed by Ahdaaf Sports Club. Incepted in 2008, Ahdaaf’s mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle and bridge the gap between different communities through sports.

 

Ms. Isphana Al Khatib, Director of the Centre, said, “We at Al Noor are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of our supporters. The Ramadan CSR Football has grown to be a popular and successful fundraising event organized by our centre and we thank our sponsors and supporters for contributing and aligning with Al Noor’s mission of raising awareness and helping individuals with special needs achieve their highest potential.”
