Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has been awarded the international ISO ‘20000:2011’ certificate for IT Services Management following an in-depth review by independent business standards consultancy BSI Group.

The ‘20000:2011’ certificate — accredited by global IT service management forum ITSMF International —  was awarded based on the Authority’s standards in place for planning, implementing, operating and monitoring of its Services Management System, as well as the continuous review, periodic maintenance and constant improvement of its IT services.

This certificate underscores the efforts of Dubai Culture in aligning all activities with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to move to a smart government, and to ensure the satisfaction of all visitors and exceed their expectations. In addition, these efforts come in accordance with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, initiative ‘Dubai Government towards 2021’ aiming to provide easy access to government services by 2021 through the use of the latest technologies.”

Mohamed Yousif Al Hammadi, Acting Director of Information Technology Department at Dubai Culture & Arts Authority added: “The awarding of the ISO certificate is an important recognition of our efforts to continuously develop our IT infrastructure, as well as our applied efforts to target younger audiences via smart initiatives that encourage year-long interest in Dubai Culture’s events and activities. This certificate represents a ‘stamp of approval’ for the quality of IT-related services as provided to employees, visitors and other important stakeholders.”

Initiatives by Dubai Culture’s Information Technology Department recognised under IT Services Management include launching an updated Dubai Public Library smart application, tourist guide services for Dubai’s heritage sites, the Dubai Culture smart application, and the online creative platform Creatopia.

The 20000:2011 international accreditation for Information Technology - Service Management is awarded to institutions that abide by the ITIL standards of IT management and that are seeking to enhance the quality of their IT-services management. Overall, the award ensures the provision of efficient services to external and internal customers by organizations.

The ISO certificate demonstrates Dubai Culture’s excellence in managing the operations required to deliver efficient service delivery by implementing a systemic service management procedure based on international best practices. These accredited standards will lead to increased customer satisfaction of all the relevant stakeholders, as well as enhancing the overall experience for users and visitors.
