Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, announced its support to update the “District Cooling Guide,” published by ASHRAE. In addition, the company also announced its support of ASHRAE to develop a new District Cooling Guide for Building Owners. 

 

The announcement was made during Empower's participation in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Winter Conference 2017 and AHR Expo 2017 being held from 28 January to 1 February in Las Vegas, USA. 

 

Empower made the major announcement following a meeting between HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, the CEO of Empower, and Mr. Tim Wentz, ASHRAE President. Both parties announced that Empower would provide financial support of the updated edition of the District Cooling Guide, which was released in 2013. The 2013 book was funded from ASHRAE Research with sole supplemental funding from Empower.

We sponsored the District Cooling Guide in 2013 on behalf of UAE. Back then, we were the sole cooling company to contribute supplemental funding that enabled ASHRAE to expand the guide, making it the most respected for specialists in the heating and cooling sector all over the world.

 

“Today, we announce our sponsorship of the updated and expanded edition of the guide, plus the new District Cooling Guide exclusively for building owners, in association with ASHRAE. We want these two guides to have the latest scientific innovations in the heating and cooling field, with special concentration on the eco-friendly technologies which will guarantee better operational efficiency.”

The District Cooling Guide highlights design and strategic planning for the industry, and focuses on the best methods to improve the systems to achieve better efficiencies in the heating and cooling plants and systems. Since its release in 2013, the guide has become an essential reference that provides reliable, sustainable and cost-effective solution for experts in the field.
