Final Qualifying Leg of du Football Champions Kicks off in Dubai

The groups stages for Dubai’s UAE Schools & Streets Cup kicked off this week attracting thousands of youth to the nation’s official youth football tournament and the only international football scouting platform in partnership with LaLiga.

 

With outstanding participation numbers, Dubai’s youth footballers came out in droves for the highly anticipated Dubai kick off with one goal in mind to top their groups and make it through to the knock out stages.

 

Speaking about the development of the platform Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Vice President of Brand and Corporate Communications, du, said, “The du Football Champions platform reaffirms our commitment to discovering and developing the top footballers across the nation.  It is a testament to the success of this platform to see the great outpour of participation from Dubai’s footballers and we look forward to a successful Dubai leg in the lead up to the finals.”

 

UAE Schools Cup                                                                                                                                                               

In the boys U16 category, The International school of Choueifat played the beautiful game with skill and confidence breezing their way into the next round and catching the eyes of LaLiga’s scouts.

 

In the boys U14 category GEMS Founders took the top spot in their category scoring 13 goals and securing their spot in the next round.  

 

In the U12 category it was the boys from Rashid Bin Saeed School Hatta that impressed onlookers and LaLiga scouts with their speed and technique.

 

UAE Streets Cup

The atmosphere on the pitches of the UAE Streets Cup was electric as the U16 and U14 teams battled it out to top their groups.   In the U16 category teams looking strong and moving forward include Bjp and Zè Roberto while in the U14 category its Wolves FC and LaLiga Academy  who are looking fit for the knock outs.

 

 

 

Girls Challenge

With double the number of girls teams participating this season in what has become the largest tournament for girls across the nation, this week it was superb play by the UAE National team that wowed the onlookers as they demonstrated the value of this platform for female footballers across the nation. 

 

Top Talents

LaLiga scouts have their work cut out for them with the talents in Dubai demonstrating great potential for development.  In the U16 category Dubai’s top footballers played with high technical skills and great fitness those who impress the LaLiga scouts include Abdallah Atwi from Al Mawakeb School Garhoud, Yehya Badawi from The International school of Choueifat, Sami Smara from Za Roberto and Khalid Ali from El Lobo Solo.  In the U12 category young players who caught the attention of scouts include Saif Al Maazmi from Al Zuhour School and Haazique Naushad from Dubai Scholars.

Rafa Gil, LaLiga scount said “This platform is a great opportunity for all football players across the UAE to come out, play football and have the chance to be discovered.  We are very pleased with the level of play we are observing in Dubai and excited about certain talents who we will work with at the du LaLiga HPC to develop them at LaLiga standards and enable them to pursue professional football careers.”
