UAE children are successfully realising their creative talents at a series of workshops that form part of the FUNNtastic Summer Camp, organised by FUNN - Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children.

 

The Sharjah-based organisation - which is dedicated to helping THE UAE’s younger generations become engaged in the world of film and media arts - is hosting a number of sessions over the course of one week, with the aim of nurturing the creative abilities of the younger generation and helping them to become more innovative and confident in their abilities.

 

The FUNNtastic Summer Camp is featuring a mix of fun, entertainment and educational activities through which the children are developing their capabilities and applying their inherent talents into a passion for film and media arts. Through the camp’s workshops the children are given the opportunity to express their ideas and aspirations with the help of professional experts in the field of arts.

 

The series of specialised artistic workshops that the youngsters are attending at the camp include media, digital arts, animation and photography. The children are also enjoying a spectrum of recreational events, including exploring a group of rare classic cars at the Sharjah Classic Car Museum, which is hosting the camp from August 6-14.

 

The programme’s scriptwriting workshops are one of the activities on offer. Through them the children are being educated on the basic roles of writing a story with a clear and definable objective. The sessions see the youngsters divided into groups, where they address a variety of ideas, recommendations and suggestions on how to write unique and creative scripts, all while developing their team working skills.

 

FUNN aims to nurture a future generation of creative artists in media and film and promotes new media works and films made by children and young filmmakers of the UAE. Their larger goal is to foster talent through local and international festivals, conferences and workshops and to form a close-knit network of talented young people who can share experiences and expertise on a global scale.
