Swarovski Launches Its E-commerce Platform in KSA

Swarovski, in collaboration with Chalhoub Group, recently launched its e-commerce platform in KSA. In an ever-evolving digital world and with KSA boasting of an extremely high Internet penetration, the website is a welcome addition that allows the brand to reach its tech-savvy consumers better and provide them with a delightful and equally convenient shopping experience.

Saudi Arabia is one of the Middle East’s most social media and e-commerce adept markets. 2017 figures gathered by Statista indicate that 75% of the population is active on social media and 21.18 million people own a smartphone.

Roland Moecke, Executive Vice President, Consumer Goods Business, Swarovski said: "Together with our partner Chalhoub Group, we are successfully growing the Swarovski brand with our Monobrand Boutiques in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since many years. Building on that success, we are very proud to get now even closer to our consumer by presenting our brand and offering of our sparkling Swarovski Jewelry & Accessories, Watches and Crystal Home products as of today on www.swarovski.sa. In today's omni-channel world, it is our aim to offer our Swarovski consumer a 360-degree brand experience. This sparking brand experience has seamlessly integrated services, being those on the mobile or any other devices. Join us in exploring our new e-commerce world on www.swarovski.sa."

This launch marks Swarovski’s second e-commerce venture in the region after the first successful launch of the UAE website last November, also in collaboration with Chalhoub Group. The brand is planning to roll out more such platforms across the Middle East this year.

Patrick Chalhoub, Co-CEO, Chalhoub Group, commented: “We are proud to have launched the e-commerce site in UAE and in Saudi Arabia. As a luxury retailer, we want to Focus on our customers and make sure that we connect and engage with them in their hybrid journey, offline and online and make sure to offer our customers the possibility of browsing and buying in the most convenient way for them”.

Launched on the 18thof April, the website can be accessed by the brand’s lovers across the Kingdom on www.swarovski.sathereby allowing them to browse the online catalogue and choose their favourite Swarovski pieces. Consumers will be able to view and shop for the same collections of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, jewellery sets, and watches, among others, that are available at Swarovski stores.

Nasr Sleiman, Director, Consumer Goods Business, Swarovski Middle East, added: “Given the increasing rates of digital adoption and the rising sophistication of online consumers in Saudi Arabia, we’re expecting digital channels to begin disrupting the status quo. Swarovski is pleased to lead on this and stay abreast of this changing paradigm. Our approach is to ensure customers encounter the same values and service online as when they approach our retail shops”.

The Internet usage in the Kingdom ranks amongst one of the highest in the region and as of 2016, two out of the 10 most visited websites in the country were e-commerce ones.[1]KSA’s e-commerce landscape is swiftly moving and is considered one of the fastest growing in the world with fashion e-commerce at the forefront. The country’s young population is constantly connected and the Kingdom has undergone a retail boom with the sector growing at an excess of 11% and consumer spending increasing by 18%.[2]All these positive signs reiterate the fact that Swarovski have jumped on the e-commerce bandwagon in KSA at the right time.
