With the hectic fast-pace life style of Dubai, there is little room for engaging in many activities other than work. Only if there was a way by which you can exercise, meet new people and have fun. Oh wait, there is; it’s called Salsa.

The Salsa is one of the most popular dances in Dubai. There are salsa clubs every where you turn. You are just not looking. And every one of those clubs offer dance classes instructed by professionals who came all the way from South America just to teach Dubaians how to salsa.
What most people don’t realize is the social aspect of Salsa. You will be overwhelmed and overjoyed by the amount of people that you will meet on the dance floor. By dancing Salsa you are entering a new social network that is very strong and very well-bonded.

Once you start, you are not at all bound to one style or one place. There is a huge variety of salsa dances and it comes along other Latin dances such as Bachata and Meringue. Also, there are many Latin clubs in the city with a live South American band.

Professional Dancer Marina Anic was introduced to Salsa in Dubai. Her enthusiasm and natural talent made her as good as her own Columbian instructors. When asked about the Salsa scene, she said, “When I started in Dubai, my instructors and the culture of the salseros is what really made me fall in love with the dance.” She continued saying that “the salsa scene in Dubai has its own specific culture which has always been popular, even among non-dancers. In the next month there are a number of salsa festivals and congresses happening globally. The next Dubai salsa festival is in June.”

Some of the salsa clubs in Dubai are Savage Garden at Capitol Hotel, Seville’s at Wafi and Trader Vic’s located at Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Residence. Maybe if you started dancing now, you will be able to compete in the festival in June.
