BUBEN&ZORWEG present its amazing product the TIME MOVER
|
BUBEN&ZORWEG, creators of unique masterpieces of craftsmanship, bring to Dubai its amazing product, the TIME MOVER® watch winder. A watch winder is a special case used for storing automatic watches over longer periods of time. An automatic watch is wound up through the movement of the person who carries the watch. The movement of the carrier causes the tightening of a spring inside the clockwork and keeps the movement running.
When you remove the watch, the spring can relax and after some time the timepiece would come to a standstill. An automatic watch has an average of 36 hours power reserve (depending on the model). The watch winder simulates the movement of a person carrying the watch, thus the spring keeps tightened and the watch continues to run. This is essential for timepieces with moon phases and eternal calendars as it maintains the value of these precious collector''s items.
The actuating mechanism (power adapter unit or battery-run) uses ball-bearing based gear motors – currently the most reliable and most silent on the market. The winding duration covers all types of watches. The alternating directions can be used to wind watches with both clockwise and counter-clockwise winding mechanisms.
“A major difference between conventional watch winders and the TIME MOVER® technology is the so called sleep phase”, explains Christian Zörweg, president of BUBEN&ZORWEG. “If watches are wound up on watch winders for any length of time there is a tendency for the mainspring to run in the slip clutch. In order to prevent such unnecessary load on the winding mechanism, BUBEN&ZORWEG developed the ‘sleep phase’, a 10-16 hour rest phase per day which enables the winding spring to relax.”
In fact the company''s international breakthrough came two years after it was founded, with the presentation of the first watch winder for two watches: the Time Mover Classic. The company harnessed proven technology from Elma, the inventor of the watch winder, a precision engineering company based in Singen, Germany, which for more than 40 years has been producing award-winning service and cleansing machinery (with ultrasound technology since the 60s) for watchmakers and jewellers.
BUBEN&ZORWEG sources the high-quality materials used to manufacture its products from prestigious companies all over the world. Solid cherry or macassar wood with burled walnut inlays and high-gloss lacquer in combination with carefully selected leather and stainless steel applications gives the brand’s products their unmistakeable character. It is not until these materials have been tastefully processed that their full natural beauty is revealed.
The presentation of the world''s smallest mobile watch winder at the World Watch and Jewellery Show in Basel in 2001 was a further important coup for the company. BUBEN&ZORWEG completely revolutionized the watch winder - measuring only 115 x 165 x 90mm, the TIME MOVER® Mobile is an ideal travel companion. The winder is supplied with batteries which provide power for approx. 12 months. (In cyclical operation mode the watch is wound for 6 minutes followed by a 30 minute interval; the direction changes after every interval). The case is covered with exquisite black calfskin and has a small glass window. The interior is fitted with black ultra-suede.
A further milestone in the history of BUBEN&ZORWEG was the creation of the world''s largest watch winder, the Collector 64. This magnificent piece of craftsmanship for 64 watches is guaranteed to have the hearts of watch aficionados everywhere beating faster.
BUBEN&ZORWEG has steadily earned a name for itself that is synonymous with design, innovation, quality, dependability, and a commitment to their customers. BUBEN&ZORWEG is particularly well suited for automatic watches with lunar phases and eternal calendar. Collectors of high-end watches prefer this line of winders because of their proven record for long lasting dependable service. However, price is not the deciding factor for a BUBEN&ZORWEG client.
The Buben & Zorweg boutique is conveniently located at the ground level of Wafi City. Further details can be obtained by calling the boutique at +9714 324 4434.
