the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) is a decision-making forum for governments and other bodies to review and, where necessary, revise international regulations and treaties, and debate key issues that have a global impact on radio, radiocommunications, satellites and other connected fields.
Held every three to four years, the WRC was last held in Egypt in 2019. The 2023 event, which will be held in Dubai, will be the conference’s seventh staging this century.
The conference, which has a highly practical and detailed agenda, enables member states to vote on matters that have major implications across multiple sectors and fields, including international airspace and waters.
The event features a Radiocommunications Assembly, followed by the World Radiocommunications Conference. There will then be a two-day planning session for the next WRC, scheduled for 2027.
