The National Water Company announced the commencement of water supply to several districts in Jeddah including Al-Hamdaneyah, Al-Kawthar, Al-Salehiyah, Al-Asalah, and Taibah.

 

Eng Muhammad Saleh Al-Ghamedi, General Manager of Water in Makkah region, said that this comes after the launching of supply services through networks in Al-Rayyan and Al-Rahmaniyah districts in the north west of Jeddah last month, which is part of NWC plan to improve water supply and distribution schedules in the governorate.

 

“We are proceeding in the execution of an operational plan to improve water supplies in Jeddah in which our customers have seen some of its fruits. We are committed to executing the projects in a timely manner and continuous enhancement of operational systems”. The plan has covered 40% of Jeddah districts last year alone, thanks to the continuous support of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, and his deputy and the keen follow-up of HRH Prince Mesh’al bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah. These efforts aim to develop the services of water sector, specifically, in Jeddah city and in the region as a whole.

 

This improvement, with an estimated daily amount of 10,000m3supplied via 5,000 domestic connections, benefits more than 35,000 people in the districts of south Abhur, Taibah and Al-Asalah, Al-Ghamedi added.

 

Water operations have been developed to reduce intermittent supply periods. Distribution rates have been greatly improved in the districts of north Al-Faisaliyah including Al-Rabwah, Al-Bawadi, Al-Shati, Al-Nahdhah, Al-Zahraa, Al-Khalediyah, Al-Na’im, Al-Muhammadiyah, Al-Aziziyah, Mushrefah, Al-Rehab, Bani Malek, Al-Ruwais, Al-Hamraa, Al-Andalus, Al-Rawdah, Al-Basatin and Al-Marjan. This enhances water services system, slows down the demand on water tankers and reduces outages as well as cutting traffic jams in the governorate.
