Dar Al-Hekma University has recently held, under the patronage of His Excellency Salih Al-
Turki, Jeddah Mayor and Honorary President of Dar Al-Hekma University, a grand graduation
party for 467 undergraduate and postgraduate students for the academic 2018-2019
representing the 17th batch of the graduates of the School of Design and Architecture, the
School of Business and Law and the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education. The party
was attended by mothers of students. The event was held on Thursday 11 Ramadan 1440 H
corresponding to 16 May 2019.
In her welcoming speech, Dr. Suhair Al-Qurashi, President of Dar Al-Hekma University,
congratulated the parents and the students for their outstanding achievements and wished them
best of luck and success, urging students to apply the knowledge they learned at the university
in their life and serve their religion and country.
“Today we celebrate the graduation of a new batch who will join the labor market. I am quite
confident that our students will be valuable to the labor market and society and contribute to
economic development because they have been well prepared by the highly-qualified faculty
members who enjoy global experience,” she said.
“Certainly, this is one of the most beautiful moments in your life. Today you are reaping the
benefits of the years you have spent studying at the university. Your efforts have paid off. You
are about to start a new phase of your career and I am confident you will be successful. Keep
up the persevering and fruitful efforts to reach the top,” she addressed the graduates.
Jeddah Mayor Salih Al-Turki said he is happy to attend the graduation party, adding that the
new batch of graduated students will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors and contribute
to the development of the country and society and play a national role as citizens. He
congratulated the students and parents on this outstanding achievement, which reflects the high
level of Dar Al-Hekma University, which offers advanced study programs that keep up with the
top global programs.
Dr. Suhair thanked the sponsors and founders of Dar Al-Hekma University who have dedicated
their time and efforts to the university. Dar Al-Hekma always recognizes its sponsors and
founders and shares with them the success achieved because they are part of it, she stressed.
During the event, a welcoming speech by the Board of Trustees was delivered, followed by a
speech of the guardian of the graduated student, given by HE Dr. Hatim Al-Marzoky, Deputy
Minister of Education for Universities, a speech by the winner of Dar Al-Hekma Award for
Outstanding Woman, delivered by HE Dr. Eiman Al-Mutairi, Assistant Minister to the Minister of
Commerce and Investment and a speech by the graduates. Awards were handed out including
Abdulmajeed Outstanding Performance Award and Khalid Ali Al-Turki Award for Talents.
Donors and sponsors including Salih Al-Turki were honored.
A documentary highlighting the development and achievements of the university was shown to
the audience, followed by the recognition of outstanding students.
