Al Qasba Treats Fatherless Children during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr

Al Qasba, Sharjah’s premier leisure, tourism and family destination, hosted a group of fatherless children from the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation in commemoration of the 12th annual Zayed Humanitarian Day.

Celebrated on Ramadan 19th, Zayed Humanitarian Day honours the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the nation, with the date enhancing the spirit of holy month philanthropy across the UAE.

Al Qasba provided Iftar for 50 fatherless children and their guardians at Beit Setti, one of Al Qasba’s most popular restaurants. The youngsters also received 50 sweet packages and 100 tickets for the musical theatrical show ‘Alice in Wonderland’ that will be staged at Masrah Al Qasba -Theatre during Eid Al Fitr holiday.

“We conducted this initiative in commemoration of the memory of the great leader and merciful father of the nation, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - may his soul rest in peace. We are inspired by his most noble sense of generosity and giving, which he instilled within us. We learn from his great life because it was - and will forever be – a torch which illuminates our paths and shows us the way forward,” said Sultan Mohammed Shattaf, Al Qasba Manager.

“It is well-known how Sheikh Zayed, May God have mercy on him, stood with needy and deprived people worldwide. He launched so many humanitarian initiatives, reaching the near and the far, that he became known as ‘Zayed Al Ataa’ (Zayed the Giver) and ‘Zayed al Khair’ (Zayed the Benevolent),” he added.

“Today, our initiative is a true translation of Zayed the Giving’s ethics. Through the hosting of 50 fatherless children, Al Qasba aims to promote the spirit of solidarity, compassion and love in the UAE. We believe that offering services for the disadvantaged is a great honour. This is why we are always keen to collaborate with charity and humanitarian organisations in the UAE to organise such initiatives, events and activities, as part of our communal responsibility and to return the favour to our beloved country,” he continued.

In addition to the meal and the candy gift packages, the children hosted at Al Qasba were able to invite friends and family members to ‘Alice in Wonderland’ a Musical Theatre Show that will be staged during Eid Al Fitr holiday. Tickets were given to the children for the play’s three showings at Masrah Al Qasba-Theatre during the Eid holiday.
