American Express Middle East teams up with influential bloggers to showcase their passion for travel
• Followers of the #AmexExplorers campaign can help determine the bloggers’ journeys • New ‘Launch my Card’ online game will enable one lucky winner to follow in the bloggers’ footsteps and win a trip to a dream destination
To mark the launch of the new AED denominated American Express® Platinum Credit Card, American Express Middle East has teamed up with three influential travel and lifestyle bloggers to create the #AmexExplorers campaign which will use social media to showcase potential travel experiences, which Cardmembers can travel to using Membership Rewards points. The partnership comes as American Express Middle East also unveils a new game - ‘Launch My Card’ - that will allow one lucky Cardmember to win a trip to a dream destination.
Each blogger will embark on a journey to explore their passion for culture, food and shopping and share these experiences with their followers via their blogs and social media channels, as well as through the American Express Middle East Facebook page: www.facebook.com/americanexpressme. Nadya Hasan writes the highly popular fashion blog www.thefiercediaries.com and will travel to Singapore; Elias El-indari writes leading men’s lifestyle blog www.smf-blog.com and will travel to India; Karen McLean is a Dubai-based foodie who created the wildly popular Secret Squirrel Food blog www.secretsquirrelfood.com and will travel to Belgium. Those following the campaign will also have the opportunity to vote to determine some of the bloggers’ activities during their trip, whether it’s learning to be a tuk-tuk driver in India, exploring Singapore’s fashion scene with a personal stylist or tasting local delicacies in Belgium.
The bloggers start their journeys as American Express Middle East launches a new online game - ‘Launch my Card’ - everyone in the UAE who plays ‘Launch my Card’ (by visiting www.americanexpress.ae/join) and who then successfully applies for the new Platinum Credit Card will be entered into a draw to win a trip to their very own dream destination.
American Express Middle East launched the new Platinum Credit Card earlier this year to meet the needs of the devoted travelling population of the UAE – a recent American Express Survey* found that UAE residents see travel as a top spending priority in 2015. The new Card offers market leading rewards which will help travellers go even further, such as access to the award-winning Membership Rewards® programme, a leading rewards programme in the UAE with points which never expire and a wide range of travel redemption opportunities. The Card offers highly competitive Membership Reward points earn rate enabling Cardmembers to earn 2 Membership Rewards points for every dollar, which is equivalent to one mile at most of its twelve leading regional and international airline partners including Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest and British Airways Avios. While travelling, Cardmembers can benefit from complimentary access to 700 VIP airport lounges around the world. Full information about the Card is available by visiting www.americanexpress.ae/join.
