Global Village, as part of its entertainment offerings during Dubai Food Festival, has organized a star-studded concert by renowned Bollywood singers – Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade. Both singers of Indian origin have been recognized in the Indian movie music industry and are recipients of the Stardust Award and Filmfare Award amongst others.

This weekend visitors to Global Village will find themselves entranced by the magical voices of Benny and Shalmali who are also known to be fantastic stage performers. The concert will take place on Friday, February 13th from 8pm onwards at the main cultural stage.

Benny Dayal, a former resident of UAE, got his first break when he sang for Oscar award winning music director A.R. Rahman for a tamil movie. Benny Dayal has sung across the languages of Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telegu and English and is widely popular for hit songs such as “Rock Me”, “Pappu Can’t Dance”, “Bang Bang” and “Sigaram Thodu” amongst many others.

Shalmali Kholgade, catapulted to fame in 2013 sweeping all the music awards in the category of “best female singer” with the hit song “Pareshaan” and has not looked back ever since. Moving from strength to strength in her career, Shalmali belted out hit after hit with “Daaru Desi”, “Lat lag gayee” and “Balam Pichkari” and has won 6 awards over a career that has spanned only 2 years!

With the Dubai Food Festival week at Global Village being in full swing, this Bollywood concert adds further to the festive ambience. The event is not ticketed separately inside Global Village and families can pay the regular entrance fee to enjoy all the entertainment offerings including the concert.
