The structure of both the 2016 CTS-V and ATS-V is optimized and designed to meet higher performance requirements. The enhancements made to V-Series are aimed to increase response and feel when cornering and torque loads go significantly beyond the levels experienced by non-V models. These structural upgrades contribute to greater structural stiffness that leads to more precise handling and quicker steering responsiveness. 

The result? A more confident feel from vehicles that convey strength through exceptional solidity, greater body motion, and class-leading driver input response on both highway and track.

The fact is, all of the design elements of the 2016 CTS-V and ATS-V have a purpose and contribute to a more precise driving experience on the track. For example, both models come with a front splitter that enhances handling by managing airflow on top and below the vehicle to increase the car’s road holding characteristics at higher speeds.

In addition, both vehicles feature wider front and rear track that enhance grip, reduces body roll in turns and high performance bushings and linkages contribute to the quick response steering.

The tires wrapped around the 20-inch lightweight alloy rims are Cadillac specific Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires developed in collaboration – and are a key component of the V-Series Bi-modal performance. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires feature a tri-compound tread that delivers excellent grip in performance driving situations, but delivers excellent ride quality, noise characteristics and extended tread wear in everyday driving.

Both V-Series are the first models to feature Cadillac’s latest generation of Magnetic Ride Control as standard. This latest generation allows MRC to read the road quicker than previous generation, which equates to 40 readings and reactions for every meter traveled at 100 kilometers per hour. This allows the V-Series suspension to adapt it firmness to the road conditions continuously, supplementing the rest of the ride and handling systems.
