In celebration of the World Cancer day, Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana in collaboration with Burjeel Hospital organized a cancer awareness session in order toto encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.

 

World Cancer Day is marked on February 4th to raise awareness of cancer around the world. World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008. The primary goal of World Cancer Day is to significantly reduce the number of illnesses and deaths caused by cancer by 2020.

 

As part of World Cancer Day 2016, Burjeel Hospital has organised free educational sessions for colleagues and guests at Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana hotel. The sessions covered areas such as the different types of cancer, how to identify symptoms, treatments and preventative measures.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Enad Tannous, General Manager Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana said: “Raising awareness about cancer is the key to encouraging early detection, hence saving lives. We would like to thank the team at Burjeel Hospital for their great collaboration and support in making this event possible.”

 

After the cancer awareness session, a yoga expert from Burjeel Hospital conducted a yoga session followed by guided relaxation. All the participants felt profoundly relaxed and cheerful after the session. It was an amazing and positive way to energize the workplace while shedding light on a sensitive yet necessary topic.
