Dubai Customs to sponsor C5

Dubai Customs will sponsor he C5's Forum on Trade Compliance in the Middle East, to be hosted in Dubai next March. Supported for the second successive year by Dubai Customs, the forum aims at introducing businesses from around the world to amendments made to customs and commercial laws in the Middle East, particularly to the laws of GCC member states, to ensure their compliance with these laws. Keeping up to date with these laws helps businesses avoid legal penalties consequent to incompliance with these laws.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, will inaugurate the forum and deliver the keynote address at the opening session. Moreover, legal experts from DC and the Federal Customs Authority will present latest amendments in customs and trade laws and what requirements are needed from traders and businesses to abide by these laws.

Commenting on their participation at the forum, Narmin Ahmed Issa, Dubai Customs’ Director of Legal Affairs, said: “This is the second year in a row that Dubai Customs co-hosts this forum, jointly with C5. The forum is a perfect platform to spotlight commercial legislations in general, and customs regulations in particular. Thanks to the forum first edition’s success and the huge response it generated, the C5 decided to host the forum for the second year under the sponsorship of Dubai Customs. Our active participation at the C5's Forum on Trade Compliance in the Middle East comes in line with our commitment to keeping traders and businesses abreast of developments in customs laws and legislations, further enhancing their compliance with these laws.”

The 2-day forum will bring together delegates from Customs administrations, chambers of commerce, free zone authorities, as well as international and regional organizations concerned with trade compliance issues.

The forum, to be held on March 11-12, 2015, will cover a wide spectrum of topics, namely rules and regulations of controlling and posing limitations on illicit trade, while offering further facilitation to legal trade.
The forum will feature a host of workshops to train participants to be familiar with the requirements of commercial laws in the Middle East.
