The Emirates Women Award 2016, under the patronage of HH Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, honoured local and expatriate women achievers from diverse fields of business on 23rd May 2016 at The Four Seasons Resort Jumeriah, Dubai. The award night was organized by DQG and was attended by dignitaries from across the UAE and GCC.

The EWA, now in its 13th year, was inaugurated by HH Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Abdul Aziz Al Qassimi, member of the royal family of the Emirate of Sharjah. They graced the occasion and congratulated the winners for their effort and achievements.

The EWA remains a motivator for the future generation of women to achieve their true potential and thereby empower their status in the society. The award was indeed competitive with the number of entries increasing double fold from last year.

The event was opened by Ms Fatma Al Mheiri, Chairwoman, Dubai Quality Group, followed by an inspirational speech by H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Abdul Aziz Al Qassimi. H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Abdul Aziz Al Qassimi, was honoured for her contribution and support, followed by awarding sponsors, jury, assessors and the team from DQG behind the Emirates Women Awards. The most awaited part of the night, ie the announcement of EWA winners concluded with plentiful applauds and cheer from guests. 

Fatma Al Mheiri, Chairwoman, Dubai Quality Group, expressed her delight saying, “We are extremely happy to honour all the outstanding women who have achieved new heights in their fields and are moving forward and setting examples. I would also like to thank the jury for being fair and transparent in selecting the best candidates. The Emirates Women Award has enabled us to benchmark achievements of women and helped in adding value to the economy of UAE through individual contributions by women entrepreneurs and professionals. Last but not the least, we thank His Highness Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum for supporting this award and motivating woman entrepreneurs and professionals in the UAE.’’
