Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdullah chairs BRCS Board Meeting

His Excellency Lieutenant General Doctor Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), chaired the work of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Society, in the presence of Mr. Ali bin Mohammed Murad, First Vice Chairman  of the Society, and members of the Board, Mr. Taqi Mohammed Al-Baharna, and Dr. Faisal Al-Musawi, Mr. Hassan Ali Juma, Dr. Fawzi Amin, Dr. Kawthar Al-Eid,  and the Secretary General of the Society, Mr. Mubarak  Al-Hadi

 

The meeting commenced with H.E. Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa reminiscing about the late Mr. Khalil bin Mohammed Al-Muraikhi, the Second Vice Chairmanl, founding member, and former financial secretary of the Society. Mr. Al-Muraikhi, who recently passed away, was acknowledged for his significant contributions to the Society, having served as its financial secretary since its inception. H.E. Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohamed Al Khalifa expressed admiration for Mr. Al-Muraikhi's dedication, not only in his official capacity but also for his voluntary efforts in various health and social domains within the Kingdom.

 

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, acknowledged the Bahrain Red Crescent's impactful contributions to humanitarian and relief initiatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He emphasized the Society's ongoing support for the organization's efforts in aiding the needy both within and outside Bahrain. He further highlighted the Society's effective role in extending relief assistance across diverse segments of society, aligning with the Society's humanitarian objectives and mission.

 

His Excellency commended the performance of the executive body of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society, as well as the dedication of its affiliates and volunteers. He underscored the significance of attracting more young volunteers, emphasizing the importance of their qualification and training, and encouraged active participation in volunteer and humanitarian work, while motivating them to engage in innovative and creative approaches to delivering humanitarian services to the community.

 

During the meeting, Mr. Hassan Ali Jumaa, the Financial Secretary of the Society, provided a brief overview of the relief and humanitarian assistance that the Bahrain Red Crescent Society has offered to the Palestinian Red Crescent, the Libyan Red Crescent, and the Moroccan Red Crescent in response to the disasters and crises experienced by these sister countries.

 

Additionally, the Secretary General of the Society, Mr. Mubarak Al-Hadi outlined the Social Services Committee's preparations for distributing in-kind and financial assistance in the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. He highlighted that the aid distribution is scheduled for February 2024, ensuring timely delivery to eligible recipients before the commencement of the holy month.

 

Mr. Al Hadi emphasized the Bahrain Red Crescent Society's commitment to operating in accordance with the directives of the Board of Directors, aiming to enhance the Society's performance and fulfill its noble humanitarian vision. He underscored the Society's reliance on volunteer work as a pivotal element in achieving its objectives, expressing a keen interest in training and qualifying volunteers for various tasks and humanitarian roles. This approach aims to empower volunteers to deliver high-quality humanitarian services in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
