LuLu launches Saudi Mango Fest, signs deal with MEWA to support Local farmers

 LuLu, the largest hypermarket chain in the Middle East, launched Saudi Mango Week: A festival of home grown mango varieties. It's the first time such an event, promoting the Kingdom’s own mango varieties, is being organized.


LuLu has procured more than 20 varieties of the tropical fruit for the festival from all around the Kingdom, and the promotion started on June 9, 2021 featuring great deals and offers on the freshly imported selection of mangoes, which are available across LuLu stores in the KSA.


The festival was visited by Eng. Suliman Aljutaily (general manager of cooperative societies, MEWA , KSA ) on June 9, 2021 at LuLu Hypermarket Atyaf Mall Yarmouk Riyadh. On the same day, an agreement was signed between LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets and Cooperative Societies Council to promote and sell Saudi produced agricultural products through LuLu Hypermarkets across KSA.


Dr. Abdullah Kadman, chairman — Cooperative Societies Council and Shehim Muhammed, director — LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets signed the agreement in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Al Ayadah, deputy minister - MEWA.


Al Ayadah said: “LuLu is one of the leading companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which has both a local and regional presence. We count on them a lot as a major player that will help us in promoting agricultural marketing, especially for small farmers and members of associations.”


Mohammed said: “We are delighted to sign an agreement with the Cooperative Societies Council for the betterment of local farmers in the Kingdom. LuLu group is focusing on making their lives easier by procuring their agriculture yields directly from farm and avoid the hassles in between.


“Regarding the Saudi mango week we have seen a massive support from our customers over the years and we’re expecting this festival to be a hit once again. This tropical fruit is loved by many, from all nationalities.”
