Moroccan, Omani and Egyptian photographers won Almarai-National Geographic Competition

Almarai Company and National Geographic Abu Dhabi announced names of the winners in the fourth photography competition 2016 titled: “Cuisine and Flavors of our Arab Countries”. The competition got fierce rivalry between the entrants and high level of creativity in the contesting photographs.

 

The photograph shot by Mohammed Mokhtar from Morocco came in the first position with the Big Prize trip to Japan in addition to photography equipment at the amount of US$ 7500. Mohammed Al-Badaai from Oman had the second position, and won photography equipment at the value of US$ 5000. Mohammed Nasr from Egypt won the third position, receiving photography equipment at the amount of US$ 2500.

 

On his part, Hossam Abdulqader, Almarai's Head of Institutional Communication and Public Relations Department said: "Our partnership with National Geographic Abu Dhabi is a strategic one. It is based on shared values and the importance we both attach to firmly establishing our role and undertaking our responsibilities towards aspiring artistic matters in the region". He added: "Through its annual sponsorship of this competition, Almarai continues its support for the talents all over the Arab region". 

 

It is worth mentioning that the thousands of photographs which participated in the competition from various Arab countries, focused on Arab lifestyle, through diving into the crux of food culture, together with shedding light on daily life aspects in the Middle East region. This goes hand in hand with "Moments" competition that seeks to extract the most intimate and warmest feelings towards the traditions and culture of the region, through the lenses of photographers.
