The newly opened Occidental IMPZ hotel, from Spanish hospitality group, Barceló, has announced the launch of two homegrown restaurant concepts in the UAE. The four-star deluxe hotel in International Media Production Zones (IMPZ) is now home to Champs Sports Bar and Stage Sky Bar & Lounge.

 

Champs Sports Bar is where quirky meets classic, as Barceló brings together the vibes of an old school sports bar with a touch of simple luxuries. The venue features a selection of seating options, whether it’s for groups to watch major sporting events, or for an intimate dinner with friends or loved ones. The atmosphere is supported by a large X inch screen for big game occasions and several smaller screens for the others, providing constant visual entertainment for any sports fan.

 

The Champs menu pays homage to Barceló’s Spanish roots with a tapas style service, but with an international spin on the cuisine to cater for the various nationalities set to visit the hotel. Cold appetizer dishes include half a dozen gazpacho shots, manchego goat’s cheese with breads and relish, and yellow fin tuna tartare. Verduras fritas with alioli, Grilled Octopus with garlic, potato, olives and spinach, and prawns a la plancha are available for those looking for hot or caliente appetizers. The bar at Champs is substantially stocked with well-known brands from across the world, with the team ready to serve up a selection of mocktails or cocktails.

 

Stage Sky Bar & Lounge is the signature rooftop venue of the hotel, located on the top floor next to the swimming pool deck. The venue offers a nostalgic look of an old American movie theatre: the entire floor is embellished with vibrant colours and natural light, which creates the perfect Mise-en-scène for a casual hangout anytime of the afternoon to evening. Guests can expect an energetic al fresco atmosphere, loaded with signature cocktails and a twist on a classic bar menu. Dishes include Vietnamese summer rolls, goat’s cheese fritters with roasted beet, and butternut salad to start; BBQ beef ribs, paneer tikka roll with mint chutney, and cod fish and chips with green pea mash for mains. For dessert, choose from sweet favourites like cheese cake or banana fritters with cinnamon sugar dust and chocolate sauce.

 

Both venues offer a selection of fun promotions throughout the week, including happy hours and ladies nights. Expect classic hits from the 70’s to the 00’s at Champs, whilst Stage Sky Bar & Lounge showcases a deep house feel with a resident DJ and special guest DJs on occasions.

 

The four-star deluxe hotel in International Media Production Zones (IMPZ) offers a total of 239 rooms across two towers. The brand new property has a variety of restaurants and bars as well as fitness and wellbeing facilities. The hotel will serve as a meeting and conference hub for the upcoming EXPO 2020. The specially curated conference and events centre boasts four meeting rooms, which can hold up to 60 people, and a ballroom for 150 guests. There is also multi-functional space on the ground floor, which is ready for creating bespoke hospitality corners and events as well as a dedicated library and working space.

 

The hotel is located in close proximity to the EXPO 2020 landmark and is within 30 minutes of the official site. It caters to both business and leisure travellers - a leading hub for MICE facilities in the UAE, and Tower A of Occidental IMPZ as a new food and beverage hub in the area.
