Olayan Saudi Holding Company and SCCC Alibaba Cloud Sign MoU to Explore Investment Opportunities and Offer Cloud Services in Saudi Arabia

The Olayan Saudi Holding Company (OSHCO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership with the Saudi Cloud Computing Company (SCCC Alibaba Cloud), Saudi Arabia’s first and largest hyperscaler cloud service provider.

The partnership aims to identify promising investment opportunities and provide public cloud computing services in the Kingdom.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Talal Albakr, the Chief Executive Officer of SCCC Alibaba Cloud, and Uwaidh Al-Harethi, his counterpart at OSHCO, with officials from both sides present.

Mr. Albakr hailed the key role that cloud computing plays in the Saudi government’s strong drive for digital transformation and for the widespread adoption of cloud computing across both the public and the private sectors, pointing out that SCCC Alibaba Cloud is actively working to bring global hyperscaler cloud to the Kingdom through cutting-edge cloud products and solutions.

Mr. Al-Harethi said that the partnership underpins OSHCO's ongoing commitment to be at the forefront of efforts to drive technology development and deployment, adding that the new collaboration would harness the unique strengths of both parties to expedite national digital transformation in line with Vision 2030’s goals.

Abdulrazzak Hussain, Vice President of Information and Communication Technology at OSHCO, underlined the importance of providing fast, high-capacity, secure online cloud services in the Kingdom.
