Pink Caravan concludes its sixth annual ride in Abu Dhabi tomorrow

The Pink Caravan, a pan-UAE awareness initiative by the Friends of Cancer Patients, FoCP, concludes its sixth annual ride in Abu Dhabi on Thursday 17 March, after 10 days of spreading awareness about breast cancer and the importance of its early detection across the seven emirates.

With more than 100 male and female riders of various nationalities, the 2016 ride has seen a line-up of associated events. The medical clinics offered free breast cancer clinical medical examinations, conducted by the Pink Caravan's medical team, in collaboration with the London-based Princess Grace Hospital, to thousands of men and women throughout the country.

The closing ceremony of the Pink Caravan Ride 2016 takes place on Thursday 7:00 pm, at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, heads of Pink Caravan's committees and Pink Caravan ambassadors, as well as partners, sponsors, voluntary riders and doctors who participated in this year's ride.

On the final leg of the nationwide tour, the riders and the medical teams will start their closing day from Abu Dhabi Corniche at 9:00 am to reach St. Regis Hotel at 3:30 pm.

The mobile clinics will receive visitors from various nationalities who want to benefit from the free breast cancer examinations, today (Thursday) from 9:00 am-7:0 pm. The fixed medical clinic will be available at the Union National Bank, while the mobile clinic, offering mammogram screenings, will be available at Health Point Hospital. Besides the fixed medical booth at Al Majaz Waterfront which is open daily from 4:00-10:00 pm.

The Pink Caravan Ride is taking place from March 07 – 17, under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the follow up of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Founder and Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP).

The 2016 journey of the ride, is being held under the slogan 'Soldiers of Pink Hope' to enhance community awareness about breast cancer and the importance of its early detection, and to offer free breast cancer screenings across the country.
