Qassim governor opens classic car festival in Buraidah

Qassim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Mishaal on Friday opened a heritage and classic car festival in Buraidah, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Classic Qassim 3, organized by the Tourism Development Council in Buraidah, features more than 600 cars that are owned by people from Qassim, other Saudi cities and Gulf countries.

Prince Faisal, who is chairman of the Tourism Development Council in the region, visited an auction of classic cars, the children’s corner and the hospitality tent.

He also took in some of the festival’s attractions, such as races and exhibitions.

Secretary general of Qassim Tourism Development Council and head of the festival’s organizing committee, Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Mushaiqeh, gave a speech welcoming Prince Faisal and thanking him for his support.

More than 250 participants were taking part in the festival, Al-Mushaiqeh said, and there were more than 25 events and more than 150 prizes.

He also thanked participants from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.
