Ras Al Khaimah to Host the 18th International Conference of the Union of Arab Chemists, ICUAC

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE Chemical Society will host the 18th International Conference of the Union of Arab Chemists from March 26th to 28th at at Al Hamra Convention Centre, Al Hamra, with Arab and international participation.

The UAE Chemical Society was awarded the right to organise and host the conference with the approval of the members of the Supreme Council of the Union of Arab Chemists at its latest meeting that was held in Tunisia.

Participants will discuss nearly 70 research papers on nuclear chemistry, industrial and applied chemistry, medicine and health sciences, clean energy and its application, Nanotechnology, the chemistry of a sustainable environment, recycling, water desalination, and wastewater treatment.

Main speakers at the conference are Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Outstanding Scientist; Professor Wonyong Choi, Phd, Head of School of Environmental Science & Engineering/ Dept. of Chemical Engineering; Dr. Wolfgang Tremel, Institut für Anorganische Chemie und Analytische Chemie; Professor Adrian Charles Micheal, Phd, Department of Chemistry, University of  Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh; Dr. Rabah Boukherroub Carbon-based nanocomposites for environmental and biomedical applications; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sulaiman Al-Harrasi, Dean of Scientific Research UoN Chair of Oman's Medicinal Plants and Marine Natural Products; Dr. Mama El Rhazi.  

Dr. Moza Saif Matar Al Shamsi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chemists and President of the UAE Chemical Society extended her appreciation to H.H. the Ruler of Ras Al-Khaimah for his honourable patronage of the activities, events and conferences of the Arab Union and the UAE Society and his continued support for the ongoing march of the society, scientific research and Arab industry.

Dr. Al Shamsi stated that, over the three days, discussions at the conference will involve researchers, industrialists, students, and chemists, who will explore the future of chemistry through its modern applications in industry and medicine, analyse environmental problems as well as the role of chemistry in creating appropriate solutions.
