Saya Designs, a Dubai-based fashion house, unveiled their ‘First Chapter’ collection on Tuesday, 25th of August 2015. The lavish event was held at The Address Dubai Mall and attended by the UAE’s top fashion personalities, fashionistas, and VIPs. The exclusive fashion show showcased a variety of luxurious ready-to-wear and couture for the stylish Middle Eastern women, fusing traditional Arabian styles with contemporary trends from global fashion.

 

Models went on the runway in an avant-garde fashion show in which they wore various pieces from the ‘First Chapter’ collection by Saya Designs. Guests clapped their hands, signaling their admiration and fascination with the stylish designs and glamourous colors. Glitz and glamor prevailed for the unique Beshts, shimmering Kaftans, layered Dresses and pearl-encrusted Ababyas. Many of those designs found new wardrobes to call home, as the show concluded with divas buying new additions to their existing repertoires.

 

Saya Designs is the brainchild of two Emirati independent fashion designers, Ms. Sara Al Madani and Ms. Ghaya Al Habtoor, both Dubai-based. Ms. Al Madani comes from a family long versed in the clothing industry, joined by her co-founder, Ms. Al Habtoor, they both enjoyed creating their own designs for themselves, their friends, and relatives. Together they discovered their passion for sourcing the right fabrics to combine them in innovative ways. Eventually, they set off to pursue this gift as a brand to share with the rest of the region and God-willing, internationally.

 

A third of all luxury spending in the Middle East happened in Dubai, according to consulting firm Bain and Co., which makes Dubai the undisputed fashion capital of the region. Commenting on this fact, Ms. Sara Al-Madani, co-founder of Saya Designs, said: “The fashion industry in the UAE existed for hundreds of years, and although styles have changed, the industry itself has remained relatively consistent. The overall industry has been on a steady upward trend for the last decade, and it’s expected to keep that trend in the future.”

 

From her side, Ms. Ghaya Al-Habtoor, co-founder of Saya Designs, added: “Saya Designs will associate happiness and a different experience to each piece that it designs, creating an identity for each piece that consumers can relate and respond to.” Saya Designs plans to unveil a new collection each season, all while expanding their presence in the UAE and online.
