Yas Mall Marks Ramadan with Host of Charitable Activities

In line with the spirit of giving in Ramadan, Yas Mall partnered with some of the capital’s leading cultural and charitable organizations to host a wide variety of charitable and cultural activities, including the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, Emirates Red Crescent and the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (AWQAF).

Throughout the Holy month, Yas Mall hosted the world’s largest money donation box, built and managed by AWQAF and authenticated by the Guinness Book of World Records. The eight-meter-high box was located in Town Square, next to an Emirati charity market in which visitors could purchase various handmade clothes and accessories, with proceeds going to charity. Aldar Properties, the owner and operator of Yas Mall, also made a contribution to the donations box, as part of the company’s efforts to support communities around the UAE.

Yas Mall also took part in the ‘Ramadan Abu Dhabi’ initiative led by the Executive Council, which gave visitors the experience of a traditional Emirati Ramadan Souk, featuring twenty retailers who showcased various products, with 10% of the proceeds going to charity.

In partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent, Yas Mall also organized an iftar for orphaned children and their mothers. The children enjoyed a delicious meal at Rogo’s Rollercoaster Restaurant and snacks from the popular candy shop Candylicious, followed by a play session at the largest Fun Works in the region filled with exhilarating attractions, adventure rides and video games. The mall also worked with the organization on a month-long donations campaign, which saw hundreds of visitors donating clothes and toys for children.

Throughout Eid-Al-Fitr, Yas Mall will also host a variety of cultural celebrations and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Starting from the first day of Eid, a life-sized mall-themed board game will be available in Yas Mall’s Town Square, with a chance to win a variety of prizes. Also launching on July 19 is the first ever month-long Yas Mall Summer Festival where shoppers can enjoy fantastic promotions and take part in daily raffle draws for a chance to win great prizes.
