Offering a taste of heart-pounding action, fun and excitement, the Xbox Gaming Zone – a new experience at this year’s GITEX Shopper Spring and Shopper Smart Living that is certain to thrill the considerable gaming community in the UAE – will launch Quantum Break, an upcoming action-adventure third-shooter video game published by Microsoft Studios.  Premiering exclusively for GITEX Shopper visitors, the Xbox Gaming Zone gives gamers free reign to play the game from the Xbox and PC gaming stand, ahead of its official and highly anticipated global launch on 5 April 2016.

 

The first major game to launch simultaneously on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs as part of Microsoft’s drive to offer continuity across multiple gaming platforms, Quantum Break is a unique experience that is part hard-hitting video game, part thrilling live-action show. Visitors to the Xbox Gaming Zone will be given a taster of how their choices in-game will affect the outcome of this fast-paced fusion between gameplay and interactive show. 

 

The gaming scene in the region has exploded in the past decade, and is currently valued at more than $1 billion.  Industry forecasts estimate this to reach $4.4 billion by 2022. 

 

“The gaming industry is as fast-paced, dynamic and exciting as the products it creates, and we know that the Xbox Gaming Zone is going to be a major drawcard for gamers in our region. We’ve created an environment that invites visitors an awe-inspiring world of gaming, allowing them to see, hear and experience the action for themselves. In fact, the biggest challenge for GITEX Shopper visitors this year will leaving the Xbox Gaming Zone once they’ve entered it,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). 

   

Also being unveiled for the first time in the region at the Xbox Gaming Zone is the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) GX700, the world’s first liquid-cooled gaming laptop with the detachable ROG-exclusive Hydro Overclocking System cooling module. In addition to the Xbox Gaming Zone, two other trendsetting tech zones have been introduced this year - the Smart Home Experience Zone with simulated connected home of the future, and ‘This Hot! That's Cool!’ experience zone, offering visitors the opportunity to test and experience the latest technologies, new launches and gadgets that are available for purchase, or will be coming soon.

 

GITEX Shopper Spring 2016 and Shopper Smart Living take place from 30 March - 2 April and will open from 11:00am – 11:00pm every day. 

 

Tickets are AED25/- per person, include access to both GITEX Shopper Spring and Shopper Smart Living and are available at the venue and select ZOOM outlets. Entry is AED 10 per student for groups of 50 and above.
