MBRSG joins forces with Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman to train employees and exchange insight on policies

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman to train the latter’s employees and expand their skillsets and expertise, by enrolling them in MBRSG’s academic programmes and exchanging insight on policies, strategies, and corporate governance.

The MoU was signed at a special event attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman, and H.E. Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, along with officials from the two entities.

The agreement forms part of MBRSG’s pioneering role in training professionals and government leaders to meet international standards, familiarising them with global developments in order to be more prepared for the future. It also embodies the major role it plays in the field of public policies, as well as in driving all development plans across various federal and local government entities in the UAE.

H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi said: “One of our most critical strategic goals at the Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman is to train and develop our human resources, build their capabilities in various fields, enrol them in academic programmes, and empower them with scientific knowledge and expertise. This Memorandum of Understanding with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government opens new horizons for us to benefit from the academic and training programmes they offer, as well as to explore their expertise, best practices, and services.”

“We are happy to be signing this agreement, which asserts our commitment to building effective partnerships with prestigious educational institutions and to strengthening cooperation to better spread knowledge and implement our strategic plan,” H.E. Al Nuaimi added.

For his part, H.E. Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri noted: “We, at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, believe that human capital is the nation’s most valuable asset, and by training them and providing them with the necessary expertise, we can enhance the performance of the entire government and across various entities in the country. We follow an innovative approach to provide the best and latest international experiences in the field of government administration and public policy; our objective is to boost the competitiveness of our national economy and shape a prosperous future.”

“We are delighted to be collaborating with the Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman, and we will commit, over the coming period, to working together to achieve our common goals,” H.E. Al Marri concluded.

Under the terms of the MoU, MBRSG will enrol a number of employees of the Ports and Customs Department in Ajman to study in its academic programmes and workshops, in order to build their capabilities in various fields, including knowledge management and knowledge exchange.

The two parties will also exchange insight related to specialised policies and strategies, institutional governance, risk management, knowledge management, research, studies, and data analysis, in addition to exchanging knowledge resources, such as library content and electronic information sources.

Other areas of cooperation outlined in the MoU include developing research studies and connecting their outputs to decision-making processes; publishing, documenting, and exchanging experiences, practices, and services in areas of mutual interest; cooperating to transfer know-how and expertise in the field; and finally, organising discussion sessions, workshops, seminars, and conferences to exchange ideas, proposals, and creative programmes. The two parties also agreed to nominate speakers on their behalf to participate in seminars and workshops held by the other party
