MoC picks 35 students in sixth batch of cultural scholarship program

The Ministry of Culture (MoC) announced on Sunday the sixth batch of scholarship students of the Cultural Scholarship Program.

The sixth batch includes 35 Saudi male and female students who obtained prior admission. The percentages are 43% of male students and 57% of female students.

In addition, 80% of them hold a bachelor's degree, while 20% have a master's degree.

The total number of students granted scholarships by the ministry reached 472 students, as the ministry had previously named five batches.

The first batch totaled 79 students, while the second group had 149 students, the third group was made up of 54 students, the fourth had 77 students, and the fifth had 78 students.

The sixth batch’s majors vary between culinary arts, filmmaking, architecture, literature, languages and linguistics, visual arts, libraries and museums, archaeology, design, music and fashion design.

Students will be sent to a number of prestigious international institutes and universities, including: Culinary Institute of America, the Australian National University, Royal Holloway (University of London), Durham University, Johns Hopkins University, Queen Mary University of London, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The cultural scholarship program is the first of its kind in the history of the Kingdom, and it aims at fulfilling the aspirations of Saudi students in the labor market and qualifying national talents in artistic and cultural disciplines.
