Pink Caravan ambassadors and media figures to participate in "Pink Bite" tomorrow (Friday)

The Pink Caravan organises tomorrow (Friday, March 11) the Pink Biteevent at Galeries Lafayette in The Dubai Mall from 6-8 pm, to raise funds by preparing a “Pink Shawerma” meal and selling it in an auction. The event and raised funds will support the Pink Caravan’s mission of spreading the message about the importance of early detection to fight breast cancer and offering free screenings for more people across the UAE.

An elite group of Pink Caravan ambassadors and prominent media figures and artists will take part in the event, most notably artist Fayez Al Saeed, and TV presenters Saoud Al Kaabi, Ameera Al Fadl and Fitness Expert Zena Habi; who will prepare Pink Shawarma meals with the help of internationally acclaimed chef Toni Cates, founder of the restaurant (Comptoir Libanais) in London, and chef Russell Impiazzi, Culinary Director, Food and Beverage at Galeries Lafayette, Lafayette Gourmet in The Dubai Mall.

The "Pink Bite" auction, which was conducted last year and prepared a burger, achieved a major success and drew the attention of the crowd. It brought AED 25,960 ($7,000), breaking the record for the highest price paid for a burger. The amount was donated to the Pink Caravan.

The "Pink Bite" event is organised as part of a series of five other events held alongside the sixth Pink Caravan Ride, Corssfit, Pink, Pink Circuit, Pink Regatta, Together we achieve better. The Pink Caravan is taking place from March 7-17, under the generous patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the follow up of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Founder and Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP).

Running until March 17th, the 2016 horseback journey is held under the slogan "Soldiers of Pink Hope", with a view to enhance community awareness about breast cancer and the importance of its early detection, as well as offering free clinical examinations and screenings all across the UAE, during the 10 days ride.
