The UAE’s Top Talent Get Ready for Final duFC Showdown on March 19

The UAE’s top talent aged 11-17 face their most challenging week of the last five months as they engage in intensive training in preparation for the ultimate showdown at du Football Champions’ UAE Schools and Streets Cup final on March 19, 2016 at the ice rink at Dubai Mall. 

 

Fresh from their victory in the semi-finals, the nation’s finest 82 young players out of 7,100 who participated from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Northern Emirates, will be fighting for their chance to win the UAE’s Official Cup. The winners will earn a place among football legends with duFC - the only international youth football scouting platform in the nation - conducted in partnership with the strongest football league in the world, LaLiga.

 

On March 17 and 18, the players will engage in their most grueling training session yet with Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos, together with Michel Salgado and 4 pro-level UEFA certified LaLiga coaches who are flying in especially to the UAE to lead the duFC clinic ahead of the Finals. 

 

On March 19, the teams face their strongest opponents in the duFC Final matches, at Dubai Mall’s Ice Rink.

 

With official attendance from partners du, sponsors, the national education and sports authorities and international dignitaries as well as over 10,000 supporters, family and friends expected, the duFC Finals is shaping up to be an exciting event for the whole community, complete with entertainment. The general public is also invited to support the young players and will be able to enjoy the matches and the shows from multiple locations available around the Ice Rink.

 

The Finals program starts at 11:00am with 3rd and 4th place classification games with matches for 1st and 2nd place starting at 15:00. 

 

The du Football Champions is a nationwide initiative featuring the UAE’s official schools Cup and Streets Cup.  Conducted in partnership with KHDA, ADEC, Dubai Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Sharjah Sports Council, it aims to achieve sustainable human development through the discovery of promising talents, who will raise the bar on sports excellence at local and national teams as they become the next generation of professional male and female footballers.
